Volunteer and Board Opportunities

Non-Member Account
Job Description
The Burien Library Guild relies on volunteers to operate and our members help fund our cause. Volunteer opportunities include tabling at the library to engage with community members, sorting our used books for sale and more. Through ongoing book sale proceeds, membership dues, and donations, the Guild raises money for activities, programs and items that are not funded by the regular library budget (arts and crafts supplies, special events, etc.). We also represent the library at community events, and encourage community interest and participation in the library. Right now we have two Friends of the Library groups that have open Board positions that need to be filled ASAP. Boulevard Park Friends of the Library is in immediate need. Serving on a library guild or friends of the library board is a great low pressure / time commitment opportunity for first time board members hoping to build experience for their resume. Or for College Students, Retirees, Stay At Home parents or... well anyone! Please contact us for more info.
